Highway Asset Management

Highway Asset ManagementCanadian provincial and federal transportation infrastructure projects have seen a shift into a public private partnership (P3) forum. P3 agreements are now the preferred method of undertaking major transportation projects in Canada because they have been proven to provide:

  • value for money
  • improved project delivery
  • better project discipline
  • faster procurement,
  • and a high standard of performance.

The bidding teams (consortiums) consist of three elements – financing, design and construction, operations, and maintenance and rehabilitation.

Mainroad’s Highway Asset Management portfolio includes eight operating companies based in British Columbia and Alberta as well as the Port Mann Highway 1 Improvement Project, the South East Stoney Trail and the South Fraser Perimeter Road. The company is experienced in the operations, maintenance and rehabilitation requirements, obligations, risks, and penalties typically associated with P3 projects.
