Mainroad Lower Mainland and Howe Sound Contracting are responsible for the maintenance of bike pathways within Lower Mainland Provincial numbered highway right-of-ways and on Provincial bridges including those located in Surrey, Delta, New Westminster, Coquitlam, Burnaby, Richmond and the Stanley Park Causeway.
Maintenance includes providing a safe riding surface by removing encroaching vegetation and dangerous debris from bike pathways as well as maintaining safety signage as and when required. All other community bike paths and sidewalks are maintained by the respective local municipality.
Mainroad also operates the George Massey Tunnel Shuttle which provided service to over 14,000 cyclists in 2015.
