CZ_300x250The Work Zone Safety Alliance has launched the 2014 Cone Zone campaign — an annual road safety initiative that encourages drivers to take care when driving through a “Cone Zone”.

As summer approaches and roadside work increases there will be more than 25,000 British Columbians working in high risk environments or Cone Zones across the province.  This includes Mainroad Group employees.

Please help us to keep these workers safe.  Standing behind each cone is someone’s father, mother, son, or daughter and we want every one of them to return home to their families after work.

It’s important for all of us to pay extra attention as we drive through work zones in our community.  Here are some ways to make sure that both you and roadside workers stay safe.  Simple acts can save a life:

Slow down

Pay attention – if you are using a hands-free device, end your call immediately

Be aware of workersmake sure to give them space (move over to another lane, if it’s safe to do so) and follow their signs and directions
