Quality Patroller

Mainroad Alberta Contracting LP

An exciting opportunity exists for a Quality Patroller with Mainroad Alberta Contracting LP (CMA 515 & 516) based out of our Red Deer or Ponoka office in Alberta. This position will report directly to the Quality Manager and is for a 6-month term with the opportunity to be extended.

In 2019, the Government of Alberta awarded two highway maintenance contracts to Mainroad Alberta Contracting commencing on August 1, 2019.

Mainroad Alberta Contracting is part of the Mainroad Group which is an employee owned company recognized as a leader in providing innovative, safe and reliable maintenance, products and construction services for civil infrastructure across Canada.

The successful candidate shall have the following qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean abstract is required
  • Proficiency with computer systems, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is required
  • Experience in a quality assurance role, preferably in highway maintenance, construction, or a closely related field is preferred
  • Field audit experience is preferred
  • Data entry, formatting and analysis experience is preferred
  • ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor Certificate would be an asset
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and administrative skills
  • Learning agility and willing to continually learn and develop
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines and multi-task
  • Strong attention to detail and work ethic
  • Ability to work both independently with little or no supervision and as a team player
  • Customer/client-focused
  • Ability and willingness to drive and work in adverse weather conditions
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours and weekends as needed
  • Previous experience working in the construction industry is an asset

Job duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Coordinates aspects of the Company Quality Management Program under the direction of the Quality Manager
  • Monitors and reports on Company compliance to contractual obligations
  • Performs field audits in all weather conditions
  • Performs data entry, formatting, and analysis as needed
  • Assists with preparing reports for Alberta Transportation
  • Conducts pre and post trip vehicle inspections
  • Conducts hazard assessments
  • Records meeting minutes as needed
  • Performs electronic filing in a timely manner
