Pavement marking was a natural extension for the Mainroad Group to complement road and bridge maintenance services. Today, Mainroad Pavement Marking is responsible for British Columbia’s Lower Mainland highways and has established synergies with Mainroad Group of companies on various projects based in the Lower Mainland, Howe Sound, and South Vancouver Island including playing a key role in Mainroad’s P3 work on the Port Mann Highway 1 Project and the South Fraser Perimeter Road.
In 2004, the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MoTI) awarded Mainroad Pavement Marking a South Coast contract to provide pavement marking services in ten highway maintenance contract areas of British Columbia. These areas extend from the United States border in the south, to Cache Creek in the north, and from Vancouver Island, including the Sunshine Coast and Gulf Islands in the west, to Merritt in the east. All numbered highways and many major connector roadways are included. In 2008, Mainroad Pavement Marking was successful in securing three major contracts, extending the geographic boundaries to include the Okanagan, Vancouver Island, and the Lower Mainland. In 2013, MoTI renewed MPM’s Lower Mainland contract for a five year term to December, 2018.
Mainroad Pavement Marking is based in Port Kells (Langley) and the company’s quality management system is ISO 9001:2008 registered. Due to weather patterns and the subsequent effects on the road surface, Mainroad Pavement Marking crews operate at full speed between March and October.
All Mainroad Pavement Marking equipment has been retro-fitted to meet the federal government regulatory body, Transport Canada, guidelines and environmental standards. Mainroad Pavement Marking LP is COR certified by the BC Construction Safety Alliance.
