Bridge washing and sweeping work kick off Mainroad’s spring highway maintenance regime in the Lower Mainland this means drivers can expect to see crews working on the side of the road.

Roadside work is a dangerous job.  A reminder to drivers to please Slow Down and Move Over when approaching roadside workers and vehicles stopped on the road.

“Remaining safe is a joint responsibility.  When you see our crews, please slow down and drive with extreme care.  Stay alert, minimize distractions, and show respect for crews at work for you.” ~ Real Charrois, Director Operations – Maintenance.

Mainroad aims to perform most spring highway maintenance during off-peak traffic periods – drivers are reminded to be cautious of Cone Zone areas, and to obey signs and traffic control where crews are working.

By the way…anyone can report unsafe road conditions, bridge and highway debris or other concerns to Mainroad’s 24-hour public information hotline.
