“We’ve been dreaming about a truck for several years now,” said City Dream Centre. “This is actually a dream come true. We’ll be able to help a lot of families through this truck.”
City Dream Centre is a charitable organization that provides support to more than 6000 kids and their families living below the poverty line each year through their Adopt a School Program. They also have feeding programs, education programs, sewing programs, and boys and girls clubs.
City Dream Centre provides nutritious meals for children and families who need them by delivering food to schools. The travel between different schools meant that many dairy and meat products weren’t available because they didn’t have a way to transport them safely. That changes today.
Mainroad Group was given the privilege of donating the funds to buy a refrigerated truck from Sukhi Bath Auto Group, who found the perfect truck for City Dream Centre. Mainroad will continue to support City Dream Centre for the next five years to pay for the truck in full.
Joe, who drives the vans of food, said that having a refrigerated truck will be an amazing help with giving more variety of food to families. “If I’m dealing with food product, I’m not going to break that cold chain with food deliveries. So being a reefer— that’s huge.”
“Our goal is to bridge the gap between homelessness, addiction, and poverty to self-sustainability,” Lorretta Hibbs, the founder of City Dream Centre, told us.
One of Mainroad’s mission statements is to serve the communities in which we work, so supporting City Dream Centre and their cause was a no-brainer.
Mainroad looks forward to working with City Dream Centre in the future, and we’re glad to have been able to support them today!
