
Based in Alberta, Maureen Moneta is a governance advisor, former C-suite executive, and active board chair with more than 15 years of leadership experience across public, private, and not-for-profit sectors. Her work spans infrastructure, economic development, innovation, Indigenous economic participation, and regulated industries, with expertise in finance, strategy, and board governance.
Maureen currently serves as Board Chair of CPA Alberta and sits on several other boards, including Alberta Indigenous Opportunities Corporation and Edmonton Unlimited. She is an experienced Audit & Finance and Governance & HR Committee Chair and advises boards and executive teams through her work with Ozone Advisory Group and Shine Advisory. Her work focuses on strengthening governance, supporting strategic decision-making, and helping organizations navigate complexity and growth.
Maureen is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA), holds the ICD.D designation, serves as Vice Chair of the Institute of Corporate Directors Edmonton Chapter Executive, teaches in the Institute of Corporate Directors’ Director Education Program, and is an instructor in executive education at the University of Alberta. A proud member of the Métis Nation of Alberta, she brings a practical and systems-oriented perspective shaped by both lived experience and professional leadership. Her contributions have been recognized with a University of Alberta Alumni Horizon Award, Edify Magazine Top 40 Under 40 Award, and CPA Alberta Early Achievement Award.
