Chris Cowley joined Mainroad in 2012 and has worked for the group in the field of Safety, Quality, & Environmental field as well as Highway Maintenance Operations. His previous career included 14 years with BC Ferries in a variety of operational roles and 2 years in the Safety and Environmental field within the construction sector. Initially, Mr. Cowley joined the group in 2012 as a Safety Advisor focused on the Vancouver Island and Calgary operations, then later was promoted to Corporate Safety & Environmental Manager. Mr. Cowley transitioned to the role of Operations Manager for Mainroad South Island Contracting, Assistant General Manager for Mainroad Mid-Island Contracting, and currently is the General Manager for Mainroad North Island Contracting. Mr. Cowley holds a Bachelors degree in Environmental Studies and Anthropology as well as a certificate in Occupational and Environmental Health. He achieved the designation of Canadian Registered Safety Professional in 2014 and has been active in applying the Mainroad Group management systems to the effective service delivery of Mainroad’s Provincial Highway Maintenance contracts.
