Maureen Moneta is an Indigenous leader within Edmonton and Alberta, the non-profit sector and Métis Nation of Alberta. Maureen has earned her Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD.D) designations and spent the last decade in executive leadership roles creating an impact as a dynamic and caring leader. Maureen currently serves on the Board of Directors of CPA Alberta, Alberta Gaming Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC), Alberta Indigenous Opportunities Corporation (AIOC) and Edmonton Unlimited and is a member of the ICD Edmonton Chapter Executive. These governance roles are complimented by advisory work and community leadership. Recent executive roles included Senior Executive Officer with Rupertsland Institute and the EVP Finance & Technology with the University Hospital Foundation. Maureen’s enthusiasm and contributions to the community extend beyond her background in auditing, finance, operations and governance to being a passionate champion for Environment Social Governance (ESG) and sustainability, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) and reconciliation with Indigenous peoples. In 2020, Maureen’s accomplishments were acknowledged with both a CPA Alberta Early Achievement Award and Edify Magazine’s Top 40 under 40 Award (YEG).
