Shift into Winter tips for a safe ride this fall & winter season
Fall and winter weather conditions can create some challenging riding conditions for cyclists. Here’s a few safe riding tips:
- watch for leaf and vegetation debris
- be cautious when riding pathways situated under the shadows of trees which can be slippery in colder weather
- to report a road or bike path hazard or concern on a Provincial highway or bridge in the Lower Mainland, please call
604-271-0337. Please be descriptive as possible. For other Mainroad Service Areas, visit our Public Information Hotline page
Please know that following a snow event, Mainroad’s priority is to clear snow and widen shoulders on Provincial highways and bridges until normal driving conditions are met then crews will perform snow and ice control on Service Area bike paths.
