Keep Our Highway Crews Safe: Slow Down

Please slow down for highway crews. As we slowly transition out of winter and into spring, more Mainroad equipment will be out on the roads.

When there isn’t snow on the ground, you can find Mainroad performing bridge washing, sweeping, shoulder grading, paving work, and mowing operations. These operations make their appearance as spring begins and continue on throughout the summer months. Giving our crews space to work not only keeps them safe, but keeps you safe too.

When you see red, blue, or amber flashing lights, please drive with caution; Slow Down and Move Over to an open lane as soon as it’s safe to do so. It’s the law.

“Roadside work is a hazardous job. When you see our crews, please drive with extreme care. Stay alert, minimize distractions, and show respect for crews at work for you.” —  Andries de Witt, Director, BC Infrastructure Services | Jonathan Boone, Director, Alberta Infrastructure Services.

We aim to schedule such activities during off-peak traffic periods as much as possible. For updates, check www.drivebc.ca or https://511.alberta.ca.
